Greg decided to take the bull by it's horns and created his own 5 minute short horror flick since he had written a decent script as his writing isn't his best talents. He sort of directed the film too with a little help of his camera guy Arseniy Vodopianov. The film was made on a DV camera and the film looked good for a short.
He found a house to film it too and hired his friend Jacquollyne Keath who is a stage veteran in many community theatre and musical productions plus has won awards for her work in them too.
Also he found a fairly newcomer to the acting field who has had experience dancing on stage named Scott Burgess to appear during the end of the film. Originally his scene was going to be as big as Greg's but Arseniy suggested that it would be perfect for his appearnce to just come up at the end to make it mysterious.
There was also a bit part as a monster which was played by Apostolos Kouromalis as he directed Greg in his first film which was another horror short titled "Streaks in the Mirror".
It was a long hard 4 hours of shooting but everyone came through.
The story was about a college student played by Greg trying to rent a room to get some quiet to study for his exams in a creaky old house owned by a landlady played by Jacquollyne as she tells him not to open this certain door of the house but however the house is too quiet and something seems to be leering behind that door.
Greg admitted the film wasn't his best efforts as an actor but it helped him create his own short and he showed it to a couple small underground venues in his area and then in the new year of January 15, 2005 it got accepted to playing at the Horrordance Film Festival down in Austin, Texas and was apparently well received by the audiences there.
Also this inspired Greg to make the horror anthology known as The Horror Seasons which his friends Eric Morse aka William Patterson (An accomplished writer) wrote a chapter of it known as The Darkest Secret which has a similar plotline.
A sequel was planned but things were falling through.
